What is Paraxanthine?
Paraxanthine is the primary compound your body produces when it processes caffeine - approximately 80% of every coffee you drink converts to paraxanthine. It is responsible for the focus and alertness associated with caffeine. Kamae delivers it directly, in a precise dose, without the other metabolites that cause jitteriness and elevated heart rate.
How is Kamae different from coffee?
Coffee delivers the full spectrum of caffeine metabolites - including theophylline and theobromine, which drive cardiovascular stimulation. Kamae delivers only paraxanthine: the cognitive benefit, without the noise. The effect is noticeably cleaner. Most people describe it as focus arriving without the feeling of being switched on against their will.
How long does Kamae take to work?
Most people notice effects within 20-30 minutes. Peak focus typically occurs between 45-90 minutes and sustains for 4-6 hours. It does not arrive dramatically - the most common description is the room coming into quiet focus. What you will notice is that you are simply sharper than you expected to be.
Will Kamae affect my sleep?
Paraxanthine has a shorter half-life than caffeine and clears more efficiently. For most people, taking Kamae before midday does not affect sleep. If you are sensitive to stimulants, avoid taking it after 2-3pm. Many users report sleep improving once they replace afternoon coffee with Kamae in the morning.
Is Kamae worth the cost?
$79 every two months on subscription; Kamae works out to $1.32 per day - less than half most people's daily coffee habit. A flat white in Auckland costs $6.50-7.50. Kamae costs less than half that, delivers a cleaner and more consistent cognitive effect, and unlike coffee does not compromise your sleep. Most subscribers find they reduce their coffee spend once they switch - meaning Kamae often costs nothing in net terms.
Is Kamae safe?
Paraxanthine has been studied in over 25 human clinical trials with a strong safety profile. Kamae uses 99% pure, third-party tested paraxanthine. Do not exceed 2 capsules in 24 hours. Not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women, individuals under 18, or those with sensitivity to methylxanthines. Consult your GP if you have a cardiovascular condition or take prescription medication.
Can I take Kamae with coffee or other caffeine?
Yes, although we recommend avoiding Kamae alongside other caffeine sources until you understand your response. Most Kamae users naturally reduce their coffee intake once they experience the difference - not because we recommend it, but because they prefer how Kamae feels.
How does the subscription work?
One tin (60 capsules) arrives every 60 days for $79 with free shipping. Your card is charged automatically on each renewal date. Pause, skip, or order now anytime in one click - no phone calls, no forms, no minimum commitment period.
Is Kamae suitable for vegans and vegetarians?
Yes. Kamae uses HPMC vegetarian capsule shells - no gelatine. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
Where does Kamae ship?
We currently ship within New Zealand with free standard shipping. International shipping to Australia is planned for later in 2026. Join the email list to be notified when it opens.
Why is the tin black?
In martial arts, the black belt represents mastery earned through years of committed practice. The black tin carries the same meaning - quietly, for those who notice it. For those who do not, it is simply a well-made, premium product that looks as considered as what is inside it.
